While it has been almost two decades since the release of The Notebook, we are yet to see another romance film of that caliber grace the theatres. Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, the tear-jerker is no less of a classic when it comes to genre and is enough to make a grown man sob!
The Washington Post deemed The Notebook as a “must-see summer movie” for those who were looking for over-the-top romance films. Despite the positive, there is one person who hasn’t watched the romance classic. She is none other than the Marvel star, Kat Dennings who was also linked romantically to Ryan Gosling.
Kat Dennings Has Never Seen Ryan Gosling’s The Notebook
It sure is hard to believe that someone hasn’t watched one of the most incredible, gut-wrenching films of the romance genre but it is what it is. Kat Dennings and Ryan Gosling sparked relationship rumors all the way back in 2009 when a fan spotted the two together at Disneyland.
While neither of them officially confirmed that their little date to the Happiest Place on Earth, Dennings’ tweet was enough proof. The actress posted that she had been “kidnapped to Disneyland” before adding, “My eyes were close until a big flashing Mickey balloon was in front of my face…Best surprise ever.” It didn’t take fans to put two and two together.
However, when MTV News asked Dennings if the rumors were true, Dennings refused to make a comment on her personal life. The actress stated, “I don’t know. I can’t talk about my personal life.” However, she did let us know that she had not seen Gosling’s The Notebook, before once again asserting that she won’t talk about her private life.
“ I haven’t seen it. I swear to God I’m the only girl alive who hasn’t seen it…I do not talk about my personal life. Ask me about my cat though, I’ll talk about my cat.”
Since this conversation with MTV happened in 2009, who knows, maybe Dennings might have finally gotten around to watching The Notebook. We sure do hope she had a tissue box lying around!
Who are Ryan Gosling and Kat Dennings with Now?
Two years after the rumors of dating Dennings surfaced, Gosling met the love of his life, Eva Mendes on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines. A month later, the two were spotted at, you guessed it, Disneyland, and an eye-witness told PEOPLE that the two walked hand-in-hand, just like a couple.
Neither Gosling nor Mendes confirmed their relationship status but no confirmation was needed when the two were spotted kissing each other out in public. From then on, their bond only grew and they eventually welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda Amada Gosling on September 12, 2014. The pair had their second daughter, Amada Lee Gosling on April 29, 2016.
In 2022 Mendes referred to Gosling as her husband during an appearance on Channel Nine’s Today stating, “Everyone is so welcoming here and my husband Ryan is here…” However, there have been no official announcements yet.
As for Dennings, the Two Broke Girls star found love in singer Andrew W.K. after they had a brief exchange on Twitter in 2014. At that time, W.K. was married to music producer, Cherie Lily, but their divorce proceedings began in late 2019. W.K. and Dennings finally met each other in 2021 and began their romantic endeavor.
There is not much known about their relationship as they have somehow managed to keep their private life private. However, they announced their engagement on Instagram on May 13, 2021, just a few months after they confirmed their romance.
Despite the fact that they aren’t officially married yet, the two are already wearing their wedding bands. Dennings stated on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “We’re not married yet but we went to buy our wedding bands and we were like, ‘Why don’t we just wear them? Who cares!’ And that’s the end of that story.” Well, when you know, you know.
Both Gosling and Dennings are very private about their respective relationships and we absolutely admire that!
