According to her autopsy report, Star Wars actress, Carrie Fisher had traces of cocaine, heroin, and the party drug MDMA (also known as ecstasy), in her system when she died in December 2016. But unlike her, the 31-year-old, Daisy Ridley strictly abstains from using drugs, alcohol, or even parties.
Daisy Ridley, who became well-known for playing Rey in the Star Wars prequel trilogy- Star Wars: The Force Awakens, once revealed that she had decided to follow the path of a drug-free life. Well, she does this in an effort to escape the curse that has befallen the franchise’s previous leading men and women.
The former wild child who once referred to herself online as a “hardcore s*x machine” has transformed into someone leading a monk’s lifestyle.
Essentially, the actress is hoping to escape the ‘Skywalker curse’ that has befallen other Star Wars franchise actors. She will particularly avoid taking the same cursed route as Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.
Daisy Ridley Will Not Follow Carrie Fisher’s Path
Other former Star Wars actors who struggled with fame and turned to s*x, drugs, and C-list movies include Carrie Fisher, Jake Lloyd, Hayden Christensen, and others.
In 1999’s The Phantom Menace, Lloyd played a young Anakin Skywalker. Sadly, he ended up in a mental health facility. On the other hand, Christensen, who played a young Skywalker in Revenge of the Sith, later took up farming. He has appeared in many forgettable movies.
Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 60, developed a drug addiction after portraying Princess Leia. She had used cocaine, heroin, and ecstasy prior to her death, according to her postmortem report.
Thus, Daisy Ridley has been living a healthy lifestyle, but it has not been without criticism. The actress has once come under fire for denying that she enjoys greater privileges than her co-star, John Boyega.
However, the Chaos Walking actress also disdains drugs and chooses tea over alcohol because she is aware that directors do not want actors who are drunk on stage. She once stated:
“I think I’m pretty responsible, which is a good thing. I’m just not that person to go out and get crazy. I like to be at home and drink tea. I’m not a massive drinker, I don’t take drugs — all of those things that I think are so boring. If you like to party and you get a job like this, that’s tricky, because you have to figure that out.”
Carrie Fisher Had Cocaine, Ecstasy And Heroin Before Her Death
Four days after suffering a cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles, Carrie Fisher died on December 27 in 2016 at the age of 60. The late actress had cocaine, Heroin, and Ecstasy in her system when she became ill on a plane, according to the autopsy report.
According to the report made public, the Blues Brothers actress may have used cocaine three days before the flight on December 23 on which she got sick. She died four days after that.
Fisher had openly discussed her struggles with bipolar disorder and had a long history of cocaine addiction.
She once admitted publicly that she began using cannabis when she was 13 and claimed to have used drugs while The Empire Strikes Back was being filmed. She told in 2010:
“I didn’t even like coke that much. It was just a case of getting on whatever train I needed to take to get high.”
For the unversed, the late actress-writer was honored in the 2017 movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available to stream on Disney Plus.
