Following his previous two hits involving, Hereditary and Midsommar, Ari Aster’s upcoming movie, Beau is Afraid has garnered immense buzz around it. However, one of the main factors behind the hype of Aster’s upcoming work is the inclusion of one of this generation’s most brilliant actors, Joaquin Phoenix, at its forefront.
Widely popular for being able to dissolve into the character he is assigned, it’s obvious why fans are excited to see Phoenix joining forces with the Indie genius Ari Aster. And following the duo’s respect for each other, it’s reasonable to assume that the upcoming movie will most likely exceed our expectations.
Ari Aster was awestruck by Joaquin Phoenix’s extreme commitment to his role
While Speaking with The New York Times, the Midsommar director didn’t hold back while expressing his respect for Joaquin Phoenix. Aster went on to commend the Joker star for his extreme dedication toward his role and said that Phoenix is ruthlessly investigative while filming his scenes. Following the actor’s physical determination to the script, the director has nothing but praise for the actor. He said,
“Joaquin is ruthlessly investigative. If something feels false or not right, he won’t be able to do it. It’s not even about him refusing to do something, his body will stop him.”
Joaquin Phoenix also didn’t back away from praising Aster for his immaculate skills as a filmmaker and expressed that they both brought out the best in each other. Following their respect for each other, it seems that the upcoming movie Beau is Afraid might not be the last time the two would come across each other.
Joaquin Phoenix hints toward the idea of working with Ari Aster again in the future
