Idris Elba’s daughter failed to be his on-screen kid
In a recent interview, The Suicide Squad actor elaborated that his daughter Isan was very disheartened when she couldn’t bag the opportunity to work alongside her father.
According to the Luther actor, the reason cited for her rejection was a lack of on-screen chemistry with her real-life father. He further added that following the audition, she didn’t talk to him for three weeks:
“She wants to be an actress and she auditioned. And you know, it came down to chemistry in the end. You know, my daughter, she was great, but the relationship in the film and the relationship with my daughter was — the chemistry wasn’t right for film, weirdly enough. My daughter didn’t talk to me for about three weeks.”
Following that, he also praised his daughter saying that even though she couldn’t star in the film, she was supportive enough to accompany him in the premiere:
“I’m really proud of her to go through that, you know what I mean. And then not get the role, but still come to the premiere.”
This undoubtedly shows a great parenting skill on the side of Idris Elba and it can be hoped that one day we may spot the father and daughter on-screen someday.
