If there was one thing Tom Sizemore was remembered by besides his remarkable acting on-screen, it was his troubled personality off-screen. The actor had a rugged appearance off-screen and it could all be due to his drug addiction that had on many occasions landed him in serious legal trouble.
But through all this, Sizemore managed to find love with a famous actress. However, that too is remembered as but a scandalous relationship that ended up in a tragedy worthy of a Nicholas Sparks novel.
Tom Sizemore Talked Details About His Scandalous Affair With Famous Actress
This dates back to 2014 when Tom Sizemore appeared in an interview, 4 years after finally being sober. When asked for details about how he mentioned in his rather ‘shocking’ memoir about his scandalous affair with one of the most famous actresses of the early 90s without giving her name, the Saving Private Ryan star said,
“I’m not tellin’ you! But I don’t say ‘the biggest actress at the time,’ I say, ‘one of the biggest actresses of all time.’ She had another guy who became her husband, and she liked me and I liked her. I didn’t have a lot of money and I ended up kind of falling in love with her, but it was untenable for us to ever be socially accepted as a couple. She was about 20 years older than me but deeply involved with another man. I wasn’t a play toy, but I was a secret.”
He furthermore went ahead to clarify that it’s not the actress we all probably had in mind – Jessica Lange.
“It’s not Jessica Lange. But you’re close! The woman almost offered to buy me a house once. I said, ‘You can’t buy me a house!’ and she said, ‘Of course I can… I have $400 million!’ I was 28… and she’s still on earth.”
While we’re not sure anymore about her still being alive for Tom Sizemore, too, has passed away, what we can say about their tragedic relationship is that it’s worthy enough of being in a Nicholas Sparks novel.
Robert Downey Jr. Introduced Tom Sizemore to Cocaine!
Talking about love affairs and scandalous relationships, Tom Sizemore then got to the part where he revealed how he got addicted to drugs in the first place. Sharing how it was Robert Downey Jr. who had initially introduced him to the narcotics, he said,
“He didn’t know I’d never done it. It was at a party and the party had thinned out, and then we went to this back room where he had a red piano and there were these girls there. I was doing Heart and Souls with him and we got friendly while making the movie. He dumped out a bag of it onto the piano and these girls did it, then he did it, and then I did it. And I liked it. But I got addicted to it really quick.”
He sure did get addicted to it really quickly, for the drug abuse not only landed him in legal trouble but also ended up jeopardizing his career along with ruining his mental and physical health. Nonetheless, Sizemore managed to sober up from his addiction a few years before passing away as a happy man.
Tom Sizemore died earlier this year on 3rd March 2023 at the age of 61 due to a brain aneurysm causing a stroke.
