Kevin Feige On Harrison Ford’s MCU Debut
Kevin Feige shared his admiration for the 80-year-old star who will soon appear in the MCU by playing the role of Thaddeus Ross. Thaddeus Ross was earlier played by the late actor William Hurt who has played the character in numerous MCU movies starting with 2008 The Incredible Hulk. Hurt died on March 13, 2022, because complications arose due to his terminal prostate cancer.
It was revealed that the Witness star will replace the late actor in the upcoming movies which include Captain America: New World Order and Thunderbolts. Kevin Feige shared the details about the shooting of the upcoming movies which will include Harrison Ford. Feige appreciated the fact that Ford accepted the role as he mentioned the 80-year-old star’s workaholic nature. Feige also mentioned the upcoming critical roles of Thaddeus Ross which has remained undermined till now.
“We start filming relatively soon. I’m sure anyone you’ve ever talked with about Harrison Ford says this, but it’s unbelievable that we get to meet and talk with him and that he’s embracing this role. He’s tireless with the amount of work that he does. This is certainly a big part for Thaddeus Ross. He’s the president of the United States in the film. And with Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger.”

Feige teased the upcoming connection between Ross and Captain America. It looked like fans will see Ford soon playing the role of Thaddeus Ross. Ross first appeared as the US military General. Despite lacking superpowers, Ross plays a critical role in the superhero universe.
“There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible. This has been a dream for years, ever since Jon Favreau cast Harrison Ford in Cowboys and Aliens. I was always very jealous of that, so to have him finally in the MCU is just incredible. It’s like, I can cross that off the wishlist.”
