Actor Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson have collaborated on two films till now. The first movie was the 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. A few years later, the duo would reconnect for Fool’s Gold, a 2008 rom-com in which they portrayed a married couple searching for hidden wealth. Many people noticed the chemistry the two shared from their How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days screen test, and hence they thought that the next movie was going to be successful because of it.
Few people are aware, however, that McConaughey’s inclusion in How to Lose a Guy was largely due to Hudson. With the feature, the celebrity appeared to have a lot of negotiating power. So it came as no surprise when McConaughey was suggested as her co-star. The studio, however, wasn’t as sold on McConaughey as Hudson was, but Hudson managed to fight back, and once he was cast in the movie, proved she was right about McConaughey.
