Sylvester Stallone appeared on The Tonight Show where the host Jimmy Fallon asked him a couple of questions. The Specialist actor was very quick-witted, responding with sarcastic remarks. When the host asked him what veterans thought of the Rambo movies, a role Stallone reprised for a 2019 installment, the Escape Plan actor humorously retorted:

“They said like, ‘You don’t know what you’re doing. You cannot take on half the world with a knife. It just doesn’t work. Or you cannot take a gun that usually is mounted on a helicopter, hold it with one arm, wrap bullets around your neck, and just run through the woods naked and actually accomplish anything.’”

Fallon was laughing throughout this witty response. The host then helped Stallone recall their last meeting in Los Angeles during New Year’s Eve. The Expendables actor immediately remarked that it was a “horrible day”. Fallon was amusingly taken aback, stating that it was not horrible, in fact, it was one of the best days of his life.

Jimmy Fallon recounted the story when he was at the Polo Bar in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Fallon was enjoying the New Year’s celebrations at the hotel with his wife when he was requested to join the piano player at the hotel and sing a song. The Tonight Show host has on several occasions proved that he can sing better than the average person.

Fallon added that he sang the song, What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?. As Fallon went on, Stallone was jokingly making snide remarks at him with a serious face. The SNL star continued his story sharing that the audience loved his song and someone from the audience even complimented him saying, “You’ve the voice of an angel”. Jimmy Fallon revealed that ‘someone’ was Sylvester Stallone who also handed him a $100 bill.

Stallone chipped in saying that was only half of the story. The Creed actor remarked that Fallon got the money because Stallone wanted him to shut up because he was giving him a headache. The Driven actor also criticized Fallon’s song, describing it as weird. Stallone said:

“That’s only half the story. He got the money because I wanted him to really shut up. [Laughter and applause from audience] Giving me such a migraine, guys, you know? Christmas carols are rough, but… Yeah. It wasn’t popular. It was like a weird song.”
