In an instance revealed by Cuoco, while the Big Bang Theory actress went ahead to gift a surprisingly heartfelt gift for her co-star Sharon Stone, she ended up getting slapped multiple times on sets that left her reaching for the ice.
Kaley Cuoco’s Surprising Gift To Sharon Stone As She Joined The Flight Attendant Team
Kaley Cuoco played the lead role in The Flight Attendant (2020) and was well-versed in the storyline and the cast. So when she found out that the great Sharon Stone was going to join them for the next season, she was nothing less than ecstatic.
Thus, for welcoming the superstar, the Big Bang Theory star decided to prepare a gift for her. Recalling the experience, she said,
“So when I heard Sharon was going to do our show, I read the things that she needs in her dressing room, and she had mentioned she loves coffee and it’s very important that she has a coffee mug. And I was like, ‘this is my moment, oh my god, this is it.’”
Since Stone was cast for playing her estranged mother in the series, Cuoco decided to gift her a personalized mug with their faces on it. However, she soon realized that they had never met before, leading her to an unseen obstacle. But she overcame this too. In Cuoco’s words:
“We took our heads and put them next to each other.”
And just like that, she had the welcoming gift ready for her on-screen mother! After she presented it to Sharon Stone, she was showered with compliments from the superstar. But then, why did Stone end up slapping Kaley Cuoco numerous times?
Why did Sharon Stone Slap Kaley Cuoco Across The Face Multiple Times?
Sharon Stone was supposed to slap the Big Bang Theory star across her face for a scene in the series. However, the former took it for real and ended up whacking the younger star in real life after merely confirming with her if she was comfortable with being ‘touched’. Kaley Cuoco described the incident in an interview,
“She grabs my face and she whacks me. [After the first take] I said, ‘Listen, I’m going to bet that woman is not slapping me again. Do not tell Sharon Stone not to slap me. She is not going to do it again.'”
However, she was proven wrong as even after numerous takes, Stone was still slapping Cuoco in real life, which ended up with the latter reaching for the ice. But later on, the 65-year-old actress went ahead to reach out to the younger actress to confirm if she was okay. Cuoco said,
“She sent me an amazing text. She said she was sweating bullets watching the interview, and I was like, ‘I said it with love. You gifted me with the best story of all time.'”
But thanks to Sharon Stone’s commitment to her role and Kaley Cuoco’s never-ending endurance, the show went on to become a terrific success with incredible ratings.
