Bruce Willis has made a massive impression on anyone and everyone he has worked with. His work ethic is one that is highly admired by everyone who has gotten an opportunity to work with him. Despite his decision to step away from Hollywood, everyone’s respect for him has only increased manifold.
Another director who could not help but admire Willis was none other than M. Night Shyamalan. The filmmaker has made movies both critically acclaimed and controversially liked. Many of them perhaps even went over audiences’ heads but that did not stop him from making more and more movies. In this process, he stumbled upon the Die Hard actor.
M. Night Shyamalan Adores Bruce Willis
Inspiration strikes when least expected. Inspiration can come from any possible place. There are various idioms and phrases that support the idea of inspiration. M. Night Shyamalan found the inspiration for his career in Bruce Willis. The Sixth Sense was the movie that brought the director to fame and he admitted that he would have been nothing without Willis.
“I owe him a lot, I owe him my career really, to be honest. No kid, who’s 24-25 years old writes a movie and has a superstar say yes and then lets them make it exactly the way that they want to make it.”
Growing up, he had always been of his iconic franchise Die Hard and was surprised when the actor agreed to work with him. His dream came true at that very moment and he understood that his career would only get better from here because an incredible actor like Willis decided to work in his movie. He even admitted that Shyamalan sees the actor as a big brother or a father figure.
Not Everyone Likes M. Night Shyamalan
M. Night Shyamalan was not as liked by Mark Wahlberg as he was liked by Bruce Willis. In fact, Wahlberg had a lot of negative things to say about him. He hated being in Shyamalan’s movie and was rather vocal about it as well.
“We had actually had the luxury of having lunch before to talk about another movie and it was a bad movie that I did. She dodged the bullet. And then I was still able to … I don’t want to tell you what movie … alright The Happening. F*ck it. It is what it is. F*cking trees, man. The plants. F*ck it. You can’t blame me for not wanting to try to play a science teacher. At least I wasn’t playing a cop or a crook.”
He publically trolled The Happening and how having literally trees as the enemy was probably the worst idea possible. He further congratulated Amy Adams to have not participated in the movie in the first place as the actress was originally supposed to be a part of the film.
