Rolling Stone Founder Denies Tom Cruise Being Gay Rumors
In his 2022 memoir, Like a Rolling Stone: A Memoir, Jann Wenner, revealed some interesting stories about some of the top Hollywood celebrities. And one of these stars also included Tom Cruise. Wenner shared that he has always been curious about the Vanilla Sky star’s ties with the Church of Scientology.
“What the f*ck is he guarding? Why is he in a super-secretive cult? He is a great talent. He is Super Tom,” he said in his memoir. Describing him as a “cipher,” he shared that only one journalist was allowed to meet the Top Gun star’s mother and sister.
The journalist was also allowed to have a guided tour of the Scientology Center with him. “It seemed he was opening up, but in the end, he said nothing; he thoroughly deflects,” the founder mentioned in the book.
He also shared that all that secrecy gave rise to the suspicion that he might be gay. However, Wenner, who is gay, denied such claims, saying, “I never got a ping on my gaydar.” Jann Wenner is not alone in denying the rumors, as Cruise’s ex-wife also denied such rumors during an interview.
Nicole Kidman Debunked Rumors Surrounding Her Ex
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman met in 1989, and a year after meeting, they tied the knot in a private ceremony. They were together for ten years before they parted ways in 2001. During their marriage, multiple rumors suggested that the Eyes Wide Shut star was homosexual and was actually interested in men.
Kidman, who was still married to Cruise at the time, reacted to them during an interview with Vanity Fair. She denied such rumors and said that they’re both “heterosexual.” Kidman further shared neither she nor Cruise would shy away from portraying homosexual characters, but she did not agree with people’s opinions.
“But I take offense if people say I would marry into a marriage of convenience,” she said. The Days of Thunder actress was convinced that her ex-husband did not have a secret “gay life” and claimed that rumors were nothing but some fantasies surrounding Cruise and his mighty fine looks.
