Tom Cruise is Cheering for His Chum, Lewis Hamilton at the Miami Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton is leading the tracks with his Mercedes and continues to break Formula One records. While he continues to charm in the Miami Grand Prix 2023, his close pal and Hollywood leading man, Tom Cruise gave his immense support to the racing star.
F1 legend Martin Brundle had a brief encounter with the Mission: Impossible actor who asked him about a particular person that Cruise is supporting in the event.
In his response, he shared, “Lewis [Hamilton], always.”
He continued,
“I love to watch him racing and he’s a good friend of mine. Hopefully he has a great day.”
The duo share a great bond with Hamilton with the racing personality even ready to get a “dream role” in his 2022 blockbuster film, Top Gun: Maverick.
The F1 GOAT shared with Vanity Fair last year,
“So when I heard the second [Top Gun] was coming out, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I have to ask him’. I said, ‘I don’t care what role it is. I’ll even sweep something, be a cleaner in the back.'”
Cruise gave him a role to be in an elite unit of fighter pilots in the film however the filming eventually clashed with the Formula 1 season. He eventually had to let go of the role.
Lewis Hamilton Will Work With Tom Cruise’s Rival, Brad Pitt in an Upcoming Film
While Hamilton was unable to work with Cruise, he got an opportunity to star with his arch-rival, Brad Pitt in a Formula 1 movie directed by Maverick skipper Joseph Kosinski.
Referencing his new film with the Bullet Train star, he said in October 2022,
“I know we’re going to make the best racing movie that’s ever existed, both visually, and we’re going to work on making sure we pull on the heartstrings of all those fans.”
Though the film’s major details are still under wraps, it is quite an anticipated project especially since the cast and crew are well-known in the industry. Meanwhile, Pitt and Cruise’s rivalry has been going on for decades now which stemmed when they worked together in Interview With The Vampire film. The duo threw shades on one another which continues even now as reports have hinted about the cut-throat competition they have within one another.
