Dany Garcia Has Been Managing Dwayne Johnson’s Career
Meeting at the University of Miami in the early ’90s, Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia started dating, after sharing a common interest in sports, business, and showbiz. After dating for a few years, the duo married in 1997, and decided to build a ginormous empire together.
However, their marriage lasted a little over a decade as the duo decided to terminate their relationship on amicable terms. Nonetheless, despite going through a divorce, the duo managed to stay great friends and Dany Garcia kept on managing Johnson’s career and business in both, the wrestling as well as the entertainment industry.
The 54-year-old businesswoman soon opened The Garcia Companies, a global brand-development and management company, that purposefully took care of Johnson’s career. Alongside managing the former wrestler’s fortune, Garcia went on to oversee notable portfolios like Acorns, ZOA Energy, Teremana Tequila, and even GSTQ. Thus, following the success of their investment in XFL, the former couple sat for an interview with GQ to discuss their history of successful projects as partners. Starting the conversation by crediting his ex-wife, Dwayne Johnson reflected upon their trust in each other on the grassroots level. Further, addressing the interviewer’s question about their failed marriage and working closely, Garcia stated the reason that served Johnson’s career.
Pointing out, “we were married” Dany Garcia further added, “I’m gonna just say a few things. DJ, please jump in…”. Dating for a while and then marrying for more than a decade, Johnson mentioned understanding the unspoken terms of their relationship. “I learned that lesson a long time ago” the actor stated. Investing their faith and trust in each other, Garcia subtly hinted at how their failed marriage might have helped them be better partners.
