Well, this sounds exactly like what might happen if a young child met Christian Bale aka ‘Batman’, and believed him to be a superhero, (except for Trump being a 60-plus-year-old man, of course).

Back in 2018, the actor who played the former vice president, Dick Cheney in the political comedy, Vice, spoke on the red carpet before the film’s premiere. Bale then revealed that Trump had invited him to his office in Trump Towers while the 2012 sequel was being filmed.

Social media was buzzing after Bale’s comments about Trump, with many of his fans praising him for his candidness. However, some people have criticized the actor for fusing entertainment and politics.

Donald Trump Believed Christian Bale Was Batman In Real Life

It seems that the 45th U.S. President is unable to distinguish between actor Christian Bale and the fictional character, Bruce Wayne. Is everything okay?

It was back in 2018, during an interview at the Vice premiere, The Dark Knight actor, famous for his adaptability and physical transformations in his roles recalled his encounter with Donald Trump. As Variety reported:

“We were filming Batman in Trump Tower and he said, come on up to the office.”

The actor, who played Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy further explained:

“He’s a tall gentleman. I met him one time when filming on Batman in Trump Tower and he said, ‘come on up to the office.’”

Bale then jokingly remarked:

“I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne, because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really.”

The actor described the experience as “quite entertaining,” adding that he had no idea at the time that Trump would even consider running for president.

The Actor’s Meeting With Donald Trump Left a Lasting Impression

It is said that Christian Bale has openly criticized his work in The Dark Knight trilogy in recent years, acknowledging that he “didn’t quite manage what [he] hoped [he] would” with the part.

Whatever the case, it appears that Bale’s brief encounter with Donald Trump had a lasting impact on him. It is unclear if the two will come into contact again in the future as the actor concluded (via Variety):

“And this story is part of how we got here, with that ‘Individual-1’ being president.”

Well, some have claimed that Trump’s comments about Batman were just playful jabs that show his lighter side. They also made the observation that lots of people enjoy superhero movies and dressing up as their favorite characters.

Whether or not Trump really thought Bale was Batman, it’s obvious that the former president has always been fascinated by superheroes. He is well-known for being a big fan of the Superman series and has even made a cameo appearance in a Marvel film.

It’s understandable why many people are drawn to the larger-than-life heroes of the comic book realm in a world that can often be dark and frightening. Superman, Batman, and the other innumerable heroes inspire us by showing us that even in the most hopeless situations, light can still overcome darkness.

Therefore, even though Trump’s belief in Bale as Batman may be a little out of the ordinary, it’s ultimately harmless and serves as a reminder that we all at times need a little superhero magic in our lives.
