Ryan Gosling has forged an incredible career in Hollywood appearing in movies across genres. The actor, who appeared in several action movies had his big Hollywood dream to be a remarkable action star. In many ways, he did after starring in movies like Drive and The Nice Guys.
When it comes to women, especially his co-stars, the actor has always been keen on upholding respect and support. While filming Netflix’s The Gray Man, the actor has gained the respect of his female co-stars, as they have defined the kindness of the actor.
Ryan Gosling Was More Into The Action Genre
Ryan Gosling has a handful of action movies which includes Denis Villeneuve’s epic sci-fi Blade Runner 2049 and most of his action roles are widely applauded by critics and fans alike. Certainly, Gosling possesses the charismatic trait to immerse into any role but he has always preferred action roles over other genres. Speaking to Collider, the Barbie actor revealed his love for the genre. “This is sort of where it started for me. I always wanted to make an action movie,” Gosling said.
“It was my first love. It made me want to make movies. It took me a long time to get here. Obviously, there’s a lot of great ones, a lot of great action characters, so it took a while to sort of find the right one, the right team.”
Speaking of staring in Netflix’s heavy-budget thriller The Gray Man, Gosling revealed that he had no second thoughts about the movie. “When I read this, I knew this was it. Not only just because of the Russos…,” he added. The Russo Brothers directed The Gray Man also stars Gosling’s Blade Runner 2049 co-star Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, and co.

Gosling’s respect and support for his female co-stars are impeccable as revealed by his The Gray Man co-star Alfre Woodard. Speaking to ET, Woodard recalled how Gosling stood up for de Armas. “I mean, he is a person that looks out for women,” Woodard said.
“He gets women and every time she [de Armas] asked, said, suggested something and then it kind of went around the whole set … you know, everybody has an opinion, [but Ryan] always said, ‘I’m with Ana on this.'”
de Armas also has the same view as Woodard regarding the personality of Gosling. “That makes me happy because I admire Ryan so much,” de Armas said of Gosling. However, the Blonde actor also revealed that she went after Gosling’s career at the beginning of her career in Hollywood.
“I remember when I got to L.A. for the first time, I didn’t really speak English very much and I just got my agents, and I had no way to explain then, and I just memorized it, ‘I just want Ryan [Gosling’s] career.’ Look at this now! It’s so funny,” de Armas confessed.
Throughout the filming of the movie Gosling has been a gentleman behind the scenes, quite contrasting considering his on-screen ruthless spy avatar.
Netflix’s $200 million movie The Gray Man went on to earn $454 million and is currently streaming on the platform.
