Even though the actor is well known for going above and beyond for his roles, Pattinson has been very clear about his dislike of working out for roles. This proved to be quite the problem for his film with Christopher Nolan, when he was forced to do physical activity with Denzel Washington’s son, who is a former NFL player.

“When I’m running on screen I’m generally paired with John David, who is an ex-NFL player, so it was the most unfair thing in the world,”

Elaborating on this, Pattinson revealed that Washington’s physical capabilities made running scenes in the film very hard for him. With Washington being a former NFL player, he is very fit and able to run for long periods of time. Pattinson on the other hand felt the the scenes were very unfair to him as he does not like to work out or do physical activity very often.

Robert Pattinson Got Accustomed  To This Over Time

Robert Pattinson then went on to say that the most difficult point in filming scenes like this was early into filming. The reason for this was the fact that he was not used to running as much as John David-Washington, who he said could keep running all day long. The Batman actor on the other hand stated that the most time that he could run for was for a causal stroll.

“The maximum workout I do most of the time is a casual stroll. John David can run all day long. It was good that I ended up being pretty fit. But definitely, at the beginning, there were days I just could not walk afterwards.”

Over time, however, the actor got used to the physical activity, and helped quite a lot with his physical health. Pattinson added that he ended up being very fit by the end of filming, something that he saw as a good thing. He then added that it was still a challenge at the start of filming as he would end up being unable to walk by the end of the day.
