It was 1988 when Cruise had earned quite a bit of fame and was a well-known actor in Hollywood. He decided to share the screen with Gina Gershon in the 1988 film titled Cocktail. Being a romance/drama film, the movie had several love-making scenes but one of them will always be remembered by the world.

In an interview, Gina Gershon revealed that it was her first time working on a big motion picture. Gershon stated that she accidentally kneed the Top Gun actor in his face. Warning Cruise beforehand that Gershon was very ticklish, that is exactly what Cruise did and the actress’ reflex was to knee someone in his face.

“I remember at one point, you know, it’s like one of my first movies [with] Tom Cruise. And somehow he started off down underneath the sheets. He started to do one thing that tickled me. I said, ‘Oh my God, whatever you do, don’t tickle me. I really get out of control, it’s not funny,’”

She further continued,

“And he’s like, of course he has a gleam in his eye. They say action, and he tickled me, and my knee jerked up and I kicked him right in the nose. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry. Oh my God, I just broke Tom Cruise’s nose.’ And he was like, ‘No, no. I’m fine. You warned me,’”

Although she did knee him right in his face, Gina Gershon revealed that Tom Cruise was also a very protective man and that she was very comfortable filming her first love-making scene with the actor.

Gina Gershon Doesn’t Care What Tom Cruise Has Done

In her interview, the actress revealed that Tom Cruise was a wonderful gentleman. Referring to his ties with the Church of Scientology and other controversies that Cruise has found himself in, Gina Gershon doesn’t care what the actor had done since he was protective of her.

“He was very protective over me. Whenever people say all these crazy things, I’ve always really liked him and he’s always been nice to me.”

Their love-making efforts did not pay off that well since Cocktail received an average rating of 5.9/10 on IMDB and a whopping low of 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. The Tom Cruise starrer is available to stream on Hulu.
