After firing Henry Cavill and canceling his Men of Steel franchise, James Gunn is reportedly working with Sasha Calle on a new project. And Calle couldn’t be happier to play the Kryptonian superhero again.
Sasha Calle And James Gunn Working On A New Supergirl Project
Kara Zor-El, the alternate version of Superman has been earning quite a lot of praise and admiration from DC fans. And Sasha Calle is being hailed as the ‘next big thing’ in the world of DC. As per recent speculations, James Gunn and the Final Stop actress have been working to bring about a new Supergirl movie. And fans could not be more delighted as they have been desperately wanting Sasha Calle to continue playing the Kryptonian crusader.
When talking to Entertainment Online, Sasha Calle remarked about her love for her The Flash character.
“Absolutely, are you kidding me? I love her so much and I feel her very deeply. I think this movie was a runway to a better story for her.”
While Calle did not talk about future projects, she did express how she would love to dive deeper into Supergirl’s story.
“I just want to dive deeper into Kara and her feelings into her day to day. I would just love to see her in regular clothes, in human clothes. As a fan, the whole time that I was filming, I kept thinking, ‘What would she wear? What glasses would she wear?'”
And we can’t help but agree with Calle since it would be exciting to see how Supergirl goes around the human world after being isolated for so long.
Sasha Calle’s Solo ‘Supergirl‘ Movie In the Works
While Sasha Calle has spoken about starring in future DC projects, she did not dwell upon what these future projects could be. However, it has been reported that James Gunn and Peter Safran have been planning to bring the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow storyline to the big screen. A movie that would have Kara Zor-El going to space to help a young girl avenge her father.
While we do not know how true these reports are, the 27-year-old might have hinted about her future projects in the DCverse. In an interview, Calle remarked,
“I hope to continue playing Supergirl. I love her so deeply and I feel so connected to her.”
With no details revealed about future Supergirl projects, it is possible the star could find herself playing her breakthrough role in the near future.
