It’s hard to forget the charming Professor Sprout in Harry Potter movies. It seems like actress Miriam Margolyes, who played Sprout, has some unresolved beef with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Margolyes expressed her distaste for the True Lies actor in the past. The Being Julia actress worked alongside Schwarzenegger in the 1999 film End of Days.
Recently, Margolyes leveled a bizarre accusation against The Terminator actor. Margolyes claimed that during the shooting of a scene in End of Days, the Total Recall actor intentionally farted on her face.
Miriam Margolyes’ Recounted Her Bad Experience With Arnold Schwarzenegger
End of Days was a disappointing outing for Arnold Schwarzenegger, where the Twins actor literally fights Satan. Miriam Margolyes played Satan’s sister Mabel in the film. In one particular scene, she was killed by having her throat slit against a glass table. As she lay still on the floor, the Romeo + Juliet actress alleged that the Escape Plan actor farted right in her face.
Margolyes already was not a fan of Schwarzenegger before the accusation. She had previously called him a “pig of a man” and condemned him for the groping allegations that surfaced during the 2003 election when he was elected as the Governor of California. During an appearance on the I’ve Got News for You podcast, Margolyes explicitly stated her dislike for his Republican affiliation, before diving into the fart story. Margolyes shared:
“He was actually quite rude. He farted in my face. Now, I fart. Of course I do — but I don’t fart in people’s faces. He did it deliberately, right in my face. I was playing Satan’s sister, and he was killing me, so he had me in a position where I couldn’t escape and lying on the floor. And he just farted. It wasn’t on film, it was in one of the pauses, but I haven’t forgiven him for it.”
The Age of Innocence actress made these accusations earlier too in an interview with Reader’s Digest. Her honest conversations in interviews have earned Margolyes a dedicated following of fans, many of whom seemed to believe her story.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Refused To Comment On The Accusation
When Miriam Margolyes first revealed this fart story, it didn’t gain much attention and was largely dismissed by the media. However, the story got significant traction the second time around, thanks to Margolyes’ viral interviews. Several news outlets reported the story and Variety even reached out to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s representatives for a response. However, there was no reaction from Schwarzenegger to the accusations.
The Call the Midwife actress is definitely a great storyteller, as proved by her interviews, particularly her appearances on The Graham Norton Show. On the show, when asked about her experience shooting for Harry Potter, Margolyes frankly replied that she got along with Maggie Smith but she didn’t like the “one that died”, referring to Richard Harris.
This is just one example of the unapologetic responses from Margolyes. Fans hope that the English actress sort things out with one of America’s most influential personalities.
