The author who has always been a graceful and open supporter of fellow writers and other popular series on television, spoke about his favorite shows apart from Game Of Thrones and specifically touched upon a series that impressed him with its memorable finale.

Six Feet Under Finale Is George R.R. Martin’s All Time Favorite

HBO’s Game Of Thrones will go down as one of television’s cult classics thanks to author George R.R Martin’s memorable writing and vision. The series showcased many unforgettable episodes and finales over 8 seasons that took audiences worldwide by storm. Interestingly Martin, who was asked to comment on his favorite shows, chose another award-winning HBO drama Six Feet Under for giving viewers one of the best final episodes in television history. Referring to the Season 5 finale titled Everyone’s Waiting, Martin said,

“the best finale in the entire history of television, and I cannot imagine how anyone could possibly do better.”

The author was lavish in his praise for the show and other series including Breaking Bad, Fargo, and Rome and gracefully accepted that he had healthy competition when asked to comment on Vanity Fair’s 25 best episodes from series over the past 25 years.

George R.R Martin also named other shows like Blackwater and The Wire among his list of favorite shows and expressed gratitude that a second season episode of Game of Thrones was included in the elite top 25 list.

The Game Of Thrones author has backed the Writers and Actors Strike firmly and has expressed his desire to see significant change that will positively impact the lives of people in the creative business. Martin who is no stranger to participating in revolutions, said,

“I joined the WGA in 1986 and have been through several strikes with them. We made gains in all of them, but some issues are more important than others and this year’s strike is the most important of my lifetime.”
