A lot of A-listers use body doubles or stunt doubles for their roles in movies or series which are way too difficult for the actors to perform. However, a few stars like Tom Cruise and Margot Robbie hate to use their body doubles as according to them, the use of a body double or stunt doubles has a massive effect on the authenticity of the scenes and they do not like it watching their scenes on the big screen knowing that it was something they could have done themselves.

Margot Robbie who recently played the role of the titular character in the movie, Barbie opened up about how she filmed the iconic scene of her arched feet from the movie all on her own and did not use a body double.

One of the most iconic scenes from the movie, Barbie which was also shown in the trailer of the movie that Margot Robbie was supposed to get out her heels in the perfect arch shape, and the camera would record a closeup of her feet. However, the iconic scene sounds harder than it is and Margot Robbie was urged to use her body double, Emma Eastwood for the scene but the actress was instant on doing the scene herself. The actress even opened up about the situation in an interview and revealed that she does not like when someone does her scenes for her. She said,

“t was probably about eight takes. Wasn’t that many. They are my feet. I walked up, we had little sticky bits on the floor, double-sided tape for the shoes, so they wouldn’t come off, so I could get my feet out of them. And I was holding onto, like, a bar. But that’s it. I wasn’t in a harness or anything like that. I just walked up, kind of held onto the bar above [the] camera…I always try and do my own inserts. I don’t like when I watch a movie and I know it’s not my hands. I hate that so much. I always say to the director, ‘Please let me do all my own things’. I don’t like knowing that I didn’t do it.”

The actress further revealed that the ballet classes that she took as a child really helped her in filming the iconic scene.

The Suicide Squad actress’ body double talked about filming the movie Barbie

Despite being Margot Robbie’s body double in Barbie, Emma Eastwood recently opened up about her role in the filming of the movie and revealed that she often had no clue what she would be doing on the set beforehand. Eastwood further added that she had no idea about the plot of the movie and just did the scenes she was asked to do. She said,

“They didn’t give me any details of what we would be doing. There were a couple times they said the whole cast would be there and it would be an important day, but they never actually gave me any details of what we would be doing until I was on set…I was on this for two weeks, and I barely know what the movie is about. They did a very good job of keeping the plot hidden.”

Barbie was released in theatres all across the world earlier this month and has become a massive critical and commercial success at the box office. According to sources, the Margot Robbie starrer movie has already earned $774 million against a production budget of $145 million making it the third highest-grossing movie of 2023.

Barbie is currently playing in theatres.
