Willis shared,
“I agreed to do it very quickly. I was as surprised by the ending in the script, I think, as the audience was in the theatre. I was completely unprepared for that ending.”

Bruce Willis had to purposely forget about the end of his performance
Pulp Fiction actor shared in the interview that he had read the entire script in one go, hence, it became a difficult task to play his role without giving away the plot. He had to work hard to not betray the script and reveal that he was dead.
Bruce Willis recalled,
“Once I knew the ending of the film and that my character was indeed dead, I had to forget about it and act as if I weren’t. I never really thought about acting as a ghost.”
Willis praised M. Night Shyamalan, saying the director used the camera to convey the story.
He also shared that no one leaked the film’s conclusion to the press,
“Normally, films that have surprise endings — somebody always gives it away, whether it’s a film critic or it’s your friend. No one gave it away, which is kind of a phenomenon in itself.”
