For Sylvester Stallone, working in an action movie is a slam dunk. The 75-year-old actor is known for his action-packed films, he rose to fame thanks to films such as Rocky, Rambo, First Blood, and Rocky Balboa.
People love to see the Creed actor throwing punches and flexing his well-built physique in the movie. With ruggedly handsome looks and big arms, the actor was almost every director’s choice for an action and adventure movie.
Sylvester Stallone admits he cannot play funny roles in movies
Fans are accustomed to seeing Sylvester Stallone in serious roles, so when he appeared on screen in a comic role, the actor fell short of expectations. Many people believed the actor was unable to portray the character in his comedic films, and even the Creed II actor believed the same. In movies like Oscar, The Good Life, Tango & Cash, and Grudge Match, the actor has tried to make people laugh through his characters. While talking about how he failed to impress the audiences through his lighthearted movies, the Escape Plan actor said,
“I know I can’t play funny roles in movies. I tried and it didn’t work. I don’t see myself as Rocky or Rambo. I see myself, sometimes, as a funny guy. There’s a different side to my personality.”
He further added,
“But when I tried to extend that image on screen I brought too much baggage with me. So I put my creative ego back in the suitcase.”
Stallone also believes that his voice is too deep for a comedy movie. The actor says that he has a dark voice which isn’t suitable often for a film that intends to make people laugh.
Sylvester Stallone tries to embrace his inner kid as he grows old
Stallone is 77 years old and he is still fine as wine. The Rambo actor is still an inspiration for many people and with his incredible physique in his 70s the actor is motivating the coming generation as well to do better. During an interview, when the actor was asked if he could feel his age, the First Blood actor said,
“I feel very immature. I’ve always been averse to the quote “Act your age.” Or “Age gracefully.” How do you age gracefully? There’s nothing graceful about you. The older I get, the more I try to embrace my inner kid. The only way I really feel my age is because I’ve had so many injuries.”
He further added,
“I’ve had five back operations, three neck fusions, both shoulders done, knees, ankles, fist — you name it. It’s been more than 25 times that I’ve been put out. So that I feel. But after I warm up, I feel really good. I don’t run out of gas.”
Stallone says that there is no formula to success, and suggests people do whatever they are good at and eventually the universe will reward them for it. The actor and his family are currently buzzing on the internet for their reality show The Family Stallone.
