Hugh Jackman is the first person who comes to the mind of most people when they talk about Wolverine. The actor first appeared in the role more than two decades ago and Wolverine became an immense contribution to his career. Starting from the looks to his performance, Jackman didn’t leave any chance to make the role his own.
Recently, it was revealed that finally after so many years, Hugh Jackman will be seen sporting the Yellow comic-accurate Wolverine look. The news sent the fandom into a frenzy as the fans couldn’t hold their excitement to have their desire fulfilled. But looks like the 54-year-old icon is not much of a fan of his comic-accurate look as he expressed disappointment over his Wolverine beard.
Hugh Jackman isn’t a fan of his Wolverine beard
The Prestige star first appeared in the role of Logan aka Wolverine in the 2000 hit X-Men. Considered one of the most accurate castings ever, Hugh Jackman became an integral part of the character similar to Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man or Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. But despite everything, the Logan fame is not much of a fan of his mutant look.
Jackman’s iconic look as the mutant is one of the main reasons why the fans love him so much. But if his words are to be believed then he is not a fan of the signature beard style. The Les Misérables actor took to his recent social media post to speak about his disappointment with the beard.
Reportedly, the X2 star loves to sport a clean-shaven look instead of the one that elevated his name to international stardom. He even got rid of the responsibility when it was revealed that Logan is the last appearance of Hugh Jackman in the role. But in a surprise turn of events, Wolverine was announced to be a part of Ryan Reynolds‘ upcoming Deadpool 3.
In some newly leaked set photos, the fans also saw the two mutants in action, and undoubtedly they were overjoyed. The fandom went insane, especially after getting the first look at a full-fledged comic-accurate Wolverine made possible by the MCU.
How did Hugh Jackman return for the role of Wolverine?
When Logan was released in 2017, it was reported to be the last appearance of Jackman as the titular character. The movie presented a heartwarming farewell to the character until Ryan Reynolds gifted the fans with one of the biggest surprises in recent times.
Although some fans were unhappy given the fact that Logan is considered one of the best movies and is a beautiful conclusion for the character, the updates proved that Deadpool 3 won’t ruin it. As revealed by Reynolds, Hugh Jackman was intrigued by the way Wolverine will be presented this time which is reportedly different from the earlier iterations.
“I think he was excited and what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”
The Wade Wilson star also spoke about how he was excited to pull off this reunion for a long time before finally getting the perfect moment. Moreover, the fans also wanted to watch the rematch of the century after the debacle that we were shown in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Additionally, some more reported cameos and surprises also hint at Deadpool 3 as a potential epic multiversal adventure like never before.
Deadpool 3 is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2024.
