Angus Cloud, the actor best known for his role as Fezco in the HBO TV series Euphoria, took his last breath on July 31st, 2023. The 25-year-old rising star faced his tragic demise at his family’s home in Oakland. It was revealed in a statement issued by his family, that the actor struggled intensely with his father’s demise, who they put to rest only the week before.
While Angus Cloud’s family didn’t reveal the cause of his death, it was assumed to be a heartbreaking suicide. However, on a recent note, the actor’s mother purposefully denied the assumed cause of death and instead claimed that the actor’s death was accidental rather than intentional.
Euphoria Star, Angus Cloud Passes Away At 25
The 25-year-old actor, famously known for his lovable drug dealer role as Fezco in the HBO drama series Euphoria, passed away at his family’s home in Oakland. Leaving the world to mourn his tragic death on 31st July 2023, Angus Cloud died of a cause that still remains unknown.
According to reports, it was suggested that Cloud’s death could have been a potential suicide, as the actor was constantly struggling with his father’s demise, who passed away in May. Although the cause of death wasn’t revealed by his family, it was reportedly assumed, as Cloud was found overdosed and “already deceased” upon the arrival of the Oakland Fire Department.
Following the actor’s death, his family and his Euphoria co-stars took to social media to reflect upon the tragic loss of life. The HBO show’s executive producer, Zendaya, shared a heartfelt tribute to Angus Cloud on August 1, via Instagram. As the actor was heavily appreciated and loved by his fans, netizens were left baffled upon learning the news about his demise.
Angus Cloud’s Mother Denies Death By Suicide
After days following Angus Cloud’s death, his mother, Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin asserted via Facebook post, that her son didn’t die of suicide. Reflecting upon the assumed cause of death, Cloud’s mother tried to rectify the media outlet’s attempt at trying to figure out the actor’s cause of demise.
Issuing a statement via social media, Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin asserted,
“Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family,” further stating, “although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one”.
Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin further claimed,
“He was reorganizing his room and placing items around the house with intent to stay a while in the home he loved. He spoke of his intent to help…emotionally and financially. He did not intend to end his life.”
Reflecting upon her son’s tragedy, Cloud Mclaughlin claimed,
“I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art project’s, fell asleep, and didn’t wake up.” Emphasizing, “he overdosed accidentally and tragically,” Cloud’s mother claimed, “but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world.”
Further, reflecting upon Angus Cloud’s miraculous survival after his head injury at 15, his mother asserted, “he was given 10 bonus years and filled them with creativity and love”. It is extremely heartbreaking to even fathom the death of such a talent, thus, the world at large mourns for the 25-year-old. RIP Angus Cloud.
