Joe Rogan is famous for not shying away from his controversial statements on various occasions. The podcaster has now suggested to Bruce Willis to try psychedelic drugs which as he said might cure the legendary actor. The use of hallucinogens has been controversial as these substance has been an extreme form of mind-bender. But Rogan was keen on the idea and explicitly expressed that magic mushrooms could help him regain his health. “I would try mushrooms yeah because, you know, the neurodegenerative process of like any kind of a disease like that I would imagine when you talk about what is the there’s a thing that mushrooms can do,” Rogan said. “Psilocybin they apparently can help to grow neurons which is which is very very unusual there’s something about it,” he added.

“Psychedelic drugs actually help neurons in the brain Sprout new dendrites which, which look like branches on a tree to increase communication between cells these drugs can increase neural outgrowth they can increase the branching of neurons. They can increase your synapses. So, I would imagine if it can do that that there’s probably some benefit if someone’s got something wrong with their mind and it seems like it’s feeding the mind”

Rogan used his source of the discussion from Terence McKenna’s Stoned Ape theory which suggests humans have evolved from apes using psilocybin mushrooms. Rogan also called it the greatest theory of all time.

Last year, a rumor said Wills has sold his voice to a deep fake AI company after his diagnosis. Several newspapers picked it up and reported the news. Deepfake technology would sustain the cinematic presence of the actor on screen despite his physical retirement. Rogan, on his podcast, said that it was a good decision on his part.

“They can kind of do anything with CGI. Bruce Willis sold all the rights to his voice because he has a thing. I think its called Aphasia. He’s got a serious neurological condition. Something is really wrong with him.”

Rogan’s producer, Jamie later joined the podcast and corrected Rogan saying that Willis’ family had denied selling his voice rights to any AI company. However, as reported by BCC, earlier a deepfake version of Willis was used to create an advert for a Russian telecoms company, Megafon.

The Die Hard and Pulp Fiction actor last appeared in Jesse Atlas’ 2023 movie Assassin. Currently, Willis is under medical supervision and continuing his battle with his disease. Frontotemporal dementia is a “cruel disease” as it deteriorates brain function and causes depression and withdrawal, sometimes obsessive behavior, and language difficulties.
