It has been 4 years since Netflix’s Daredevil series ended back in 2018. After announcing the rebirth of Matt Murdock, Daredevil has been trending again. Deborah Ann Woll, who co-starred alongside Charlie Cox recalled her favorite memory with the fellow actor.
Admiring the actor for being his own self, Deborah Ann Woll stated that she was glad it was Charlie Cox and not some random actor.
Deborah Ann Woll Feels Grateful For Charlie Cox
Daredevil ran from 2015 to 2018 for a total of 3 seasons on Netflix before getting handed over to Disney. Although the series was much adored by all, it never quite gained fame along with the likes of WandaVision. The announcement that Charlie Cox will return once more as Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again made the series trending once again.
Reminiscing about the past, Deborah Ann Woll, who portrayed the character of Karen Page on the Netflix series recalled her favorite scene. Talking on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast, she stated her love for the series and a scene that made it to her favorite memories. The scene in talks is during the earlier episodes of Season 3 wherein during a flashback, Daredevil reveals his true identity to Karen Page. According to Deborah Ann Woll, the scene was masterfully written and she simply fell in love with it.
Talking about the scene and her co-star Charlie Cox, here’s what Deborah Ann Woll had to say,
“Every scene with him was a joy, but the beginning of Season 3, we were going to do a flashback to the scene that just followed his reveal that ‘I am Daredevil’ to Karen, and he and I had already had a lot of conversations about what had happened between then and the next time they met. So, when Erik Olsen, our showrunner on Season 3, came in and said that he wanted to revisit that moment, he worked very closely with us, and wanted to know what had we imagined.
The True Blood actress continued,
He wrote a pass, and sent it to Charlie [Cox] and I, and Charlie and I read through it and discussed it and sent back some thoughts, and there were rewrites. There was this really lovely, collaborative back-and-forth, and when we finally got there that day to shoot it, it just was another one of those moments with him where I was like, ‘I’m just so grateful this is you, and not some a—hole who’s too big for his britches.'”
Although there has been no official news for the return of Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page in the upcoming series, her return will do good for the MCU. 3 major series set in the same universe could get tied up with the help of a single Karen Page if she does return.
How Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page Can Help The MCU?
The Defenders, Marvel’s The Punisher, and, Daredevil, were the three series that were running almost parallel with each other. The Defenders were a team of street-based superheroes which included Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and, Danny Rand. Marvel’s The Punisher featured Frank Castle seeking revenge for the murder of his family. Among all the three above-mentioned series, a connecting point among them was Deborah Ann Woll’s, Karen Page.
The character has appeared in all three series and is a connecting point between them. Although Deborah Ann Woll has not been confirmed to star in the series, the character of Karen Page is paramount for future connections in the MCU.
