Stunt Coordinator of $101M Movie, for Which Brad Pitt Got Down to 6% Body Fat, Said Pitt's Body Was Gifted at Getting Ripped

Brad Pitt looks amazing at 59, something most of his fans can only dream of achieving. The actor has always been committed to his health and fitness, even from his earlier career days. Pitt was considered one of the world’s most attractive man by several media outlets for years. Even co-actors couldn’t take their eyes off him when Pitt appeared as the elegant warrior Achilles in Troy.

However, one of his most iconic roles, both in terms of acting and physical fitness, was in the 1999 movie, Fight Club. Brad Pitt played Tyler Durden in the psychological thriller directed by David Fincher. The film, also starring Edward Norton, initially failed at the box office but later gained a cult following.

Brad Pitt Got In Amazing Shape For Fight Club

In Fight Club, Brad Pitt flexed his ripped body in several scenes. His lean and muscular look suited the character perfectly, and the Moneyball actor had some pretty intense fight scenes in the movie. Stuntsman-turned-director, David Leitch, who worked alongside Pitt in the movie later revealed that much of the inspiration for the fight choreography came from Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan movies.

The Mr. & Mrs. Smith actor was already in good shape when he was cast in the film, yet the committed actor underwent strict routines to achieve Tyler Durden’s shape. According to stunt coordinator Damon Caro, the Ad Astra actor managed to bring down his body fat count to 6%. Caro was in awe of Pitt’s ability to transform at will. Damon Caro shared (via Men’s Health):

“He’s a genetic freak. Brad’s got the ability to do whatever he wants to do. He can build up, but for that one he got lean, so while he was working out and lifting he was restricting his calories. I mean he was shredded for that film.”

This was not the first or last time the Ocean’s Eleven actor worked hard for a physical transformation. For his role as Achilles in Troy, Pitt took it as a challenge at 40 years old to bulk up, defying the norms of actors his age who would dismiss their physical appearance. The Fury actor, however, has moved past his Troy days and shared that he was enjoying his aging process.

In his routine for Fight Club, Brad Pitt went for a bodybuilding style split where he focused on a different muscle group each day. Pitt finished these daily muscle-building workouts with two rigorous cardio sessions. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actor kept it really simple for this $101 million grossing film, unlike his Troy workout which was pretty demanding.
