Jonathan Majors has been in the media spotlight for quite a lot of negative reasons in recent times. The actor has been in hot water due to a number of allegations towards him, ranging from violent behavior to straight-up counts of assault in the third degree.
The actor has been legally accused of this behavior by multiple women, which has affected his career drastically, but that hasn’t stopped him from fighting back. To add to this list, Majors was also recently said to have shown violent behavior on the set of his movies.
Jonathan Majors Accused Of Bullying Crew On Set Of His 2022 Movie
Jonathan Majors was subject to an expose by Rolling Stone where many testimonies were gathered against the actor. Among these was one individual who claimed that on the set of his 2022 movie Devotion, the actor apparently went a little too far with his ‘method acting’ and terrorized the set. It was claimed that the actor was incredibly disrespectful towards the cast and crew, making it a very toxic work environment.
“I’ve heard of different Method actors and how their behavior is, but none of them are violent or rude toward their crew,” one production member claims. “[Majors] was completely disrespectful and kind of violent toward everybody.… It put everyone on a stress level because we can’t do our job because we were afraid we were gonna get hurt.”
They claimed that his behavior on set was borderline abusive, mentioning that the actor made women cry, and even claiming that he enjoyed it when they did. It was also mentioned that the actor has a habit of preying on those who were unable to stand up for themselves and speak out.
“It started to become borderline abusive,” the production source says, claiming that a crew member eventually raised concerns to producers about his behavior. “It seemed like it was some kind of sick pleasure that he took out of — once those girls cried…. He did it to people who he could tell would be too afraid to stand up for themselves.”
These allegations about Majors being a nightmare on-set are not the only ones that appear in this exposé.
Jonathan Majors Also Accused of Violent Behaviour On The Set Of Upcoming Movie
Jonathan Majors was also accused of bullying the cast and crew of his upcoming movie, Magazine Dreams. A source claimed that the actor would use physical means to intimidate people. He would apparently scream at them while physically intimidating them as well as push people to get what he wanted.
After continuous incidents, the crew finally complained to producers at the end of production regarding this behavior but this was also to no avail. Instead of helping them with this, the producers allegedly told them to cooperate with the actor’s creative process and give him his space.
The Actor’s Lawyers Attempt To Defend Him Against Accusations of Violent Behaviour
After this exposé was released, one of Jonathan Majors’ lawyers, Dustin Pusch, was quick to talk to IndieWire about it. He stated that while it was true that the actor immersed himself fully into a character when acting, the actor completely denies all accusations about him emotionally, physically, or verbally abusing anyone, adding that any claims that the actor physically intimidated someone are also false.
“Jonathan Majors vehemently denies Rolling Stone’s false allegations that he physically, verbally, or emotionally abused anyone, let alone any of his past romantic partners…The allegations that Mr. Majors got physical with or physically intimidated anyone on any movie set are downright false. Everyone who has worked with Mr. Majors knows that he employs an immersive Method acting style, and while that can be misconstrued as rudeness at times, those who know Mr. Majors and work in the industry have attested to his dedication to his craft as well as his kindness.”
Pusch added that anyone who has worked with the actor in the past can credit to the fact that he is an avid Method actor and that particular type of acting has been credited to rudeness quite frequently. He also mentioned that Majors is simply dedicated to his craft and is in reality an incredibly kind person.
