While British star Sophie Turner may be known today as the wife of singer Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, she made a cracking debut in HBO’s cult series Game Of Thrones. Turner who played the character of Sansa Stark in the series, became a household name along with Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington after Game of Thrones struck gold.

Over 8 seasons and many memorable episodes, Turner’s character has played an integral part in the ensemble which naturally led to a strong camaraderie between all the cast members. In an interview with the cast after the final season aired, the Dark Phoenix star recalled her experiences on being part of the series and also teased her co-star Kit Harington for getting too emotional during the initial table reading for the finale.

After taking the world by storm with its first season in 2011, the HBO series Game Of Thrones went from strength to strength to become one of the most watched shows in the history of television. The series also made Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, and Kit Harington superstars who went on to the big leagues with other prestigious projects. The final season which aired in 2019, saw a shocking finale which was also steeped in controversy as Kit Harington’s character Jon Snow kills Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen.

Sophie Turner who played the role of Sansa Stark in the series, recalled the table reading before the final episode which was a bitter-sweet moment for the whole cast. The actor spoke about Kit Harington’s emotional state as he realized what was in store for his character. Lightheartedly teasing her co-star who welled up in tears, Turner said,

I think Kit cried the most out of all of us. He was a pansy”

Sophie Turner went on to add that she was extremely grateful to have begun her career with a show like Game Of Thrones which was the stepping stone for her to take up bigger projects in Hollywood.

Sophie Turner’s Wish For Her Character Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones

Sophie Turner’s character Sansa Stark’s romantic journey in Game Of Thrones has been a complicated one. From forced marriages to brutal manipulation, she has faced it all. This prompted Turner to think out of the box for her character in which she suggested a intriguing alternative course to find love.

“I think she’s going to have to swing the other way – because the men thing isn’t working for her.”

The Survive star even offered up a few names from the show who could be paired with Sansa Stark as potentially ideal matches. Among the prospects were Margaery Tyrell and Arya, who was played by her real life good friend Maisie Williams. While Turner used the platform to playfully imagine these possibilities, she confessed that a same-sex relationship would have added a new and interesting twist to Game Of Thrones.
