The late Hollywood veteran Robin Williams was remembered by the former UFC commentator Joe Rogan, after his tragic demise in 2014. During a May 2021 podcast, Rogan reflected upon the actor’s penchant for comedy and also praised Williams for spitting his incredible work of art into the entertainment industry.
Discussing how he came across Robin Williams, during one of his improv shows, Joe Rogan reflected upon the amazing yet terrifying experience. Rogan admitted how Williams waited in line to meet him and praise his work, while he personally was unaware of Williams’ presence in his show.

Late actor Robin Williams appears to be one of the most appreciated Hollywood stars, with a huge fanbase devouring his masterpieces. Often known for his work in Jumanji (1995), Good Will Hunting (1997), and Dead Poets Society (1989), Williams is hailed by the world for his ultimate balance between comedic timing and seriousness.
Even the former UFC commentator Joe Rogan, appears to be a huge fan of Williams, as he passionately praised the actor for his incredible work of art. Reflecting upon the tragic cause of Williams’ death, Rogan stated, “Robin was a big one for a lot of people because he was not just a comedian, he was like a cultural icon”.
Further, Joe Rogan went on to praise the late actor for his versatility and a huge range of skills. “In terms of his films, all the different movies that he was in, and he had such a range to it…From Good Will Hunting to so many different films, he was a genius.” Rogan mentioned.
Joe Rogan’s One Awful Memory Of Robin Williams
While praising Robin Williams, Joe Rogan suddenly landed on a lost memory of his, concerning the actor. Revealing how he once met the talented star during one of his improv shows, Rogan held back tears, while admitting how he almost didn’t recognize Williams.
Joined by the renowned author and journalist, Sebastian Junger, Rogan mentioned how he and Williams share a similar interest in comedy and that’s what brought them together. “I met him (Williams) after one of my shows, I didn’t know I was talking to him until a couple of minutes into the conversation.” the podcast host shared.
“He had a crazy big white beard and he waited in line with everybody else to meet me and I was talking to him and he was telling, ‘Oh I love this bit, I love that and I loved how you put that together.’”
The sudden realization of meeting the acclaimed actor during one of his shows was the best memory of Rogan’s. However, the former UFC commentator also mentioned how it made him feel awful as Williams had to wait in line to meet him, while he almost didn’t recognize the superstar.
