But there is one more detail that recently surfaced on the internet that soon became a hot topic among MCU fans.
In the Disney+ show, Tatiana Maslany played Jennifer Walters. But there was also another person who brought the character to life. Actress and model Maliah Arrayah, who is 6’5″ tall, also portrayed a stand-in and was a reference for She-Hulk’s appearance. But recent details have revealed that the shoemakers also hired a male actor for the season finale.
She-Hulk Show-makers Hired a Male Actor for The Final Episode
So far, Tatiana Maslany has been playing Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk in the Disney+ show. But a recently released video has revealed that Maslany was not the only person playing She-Hulk.
The video revealed that the opening sequence of the season finale featured a man as She-Hulk. The male actor Devon Lewis, who portrayed the savage She-Hulk in the opening scene, posted the video. They also included some still images of the actor getting ready for his role.
He said, “A lot of people still haven’t realized that She-Hulk was played by a man… Yes, motherf***ers, that’s me.”
During the opening scene of the show, Jennifer Walters recalls her actions from episode 8, where she lost control after seeing her leaked video. The dream sequence was shown in the same way as Lou Ferrigno’s original The Incredible Hulk TV series, where Lou Ferrigno played the Hulk.
Lou Ferrigno was the first actor to play the gamma-powered superhero in The Incredible Hulk, which ran for five seasons from 1978 to 1982. Lou Ferrigno later vocally reprised his role in animated and computer-generated incarnations of Hulk.
The American actor also had cameo appearances in 2003’s Hulk and 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. He also gave his voice in the 2008 movie and continued to voice the character until Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Fans Share Their Thoughts About the Savage She-Hulk Being a Man
After it was revealed that the savage she-hulk in Walters’ dream was not the actress herself, fans started discussing the matter online. Many even started to claim that instead of hiring a random person, they should have hired Lou Ferrigno himself for the sequence.
While some shared that they thought it was Lou Ferrigno, some suggested that the show-makers should have hired a female bodybuilder instead of a male actor. Some fans even went on to say that it was the real plot twist of the series.
However, the whole sequence was inspired by Hulk’s original series and was MCU’s tribute to the 70’s television series. They wanted the character to look as scarier and angrier as Lou Ferrigno was seen in the original show. This is the reason they hired a man to portray the character.
As for season 2, there are not many details available about it. The studio has not announced a second season yet. But considering all the hints and teases in the season finale, fans may get to see season 2 of the Disney+ show.
