Anne Hathaway’s Kind Gesture For Her Crew Turned Into the “Biggest diva request of all time” During a Movie Shoot

Following her big break in The Princess Diaries, Anne Hathaway has starred in several critically acclaimed movies and has portrayed a range of characters on screen. The Oscar-winning actress played a character that she was not usually offered in the 2019 mystery-thriller Serenity. Starring Hathaway alongside Matthew McConaughey, the film tells the story of a fishing boat captain who is approached by his ex-wife to murder her abusive husband.

During her interview with the talk show host Seth Meyers, Hathaway also discussed filming on a boat and shared the essentials she took during long days of shooting in the middle of the ocean. The 40-year-old actress shared that she decided to take some practical items like a book and sunscreen.

However, she also thought of bringing a Nespresso machine. The Intern actress shared that she thought it would be a good idea to have “an espresso machine,” which would allow the whole crew to have a great coffee after a long shoot.

“I was like, ‘I’m going to have an espresso machine and everyone is going to be tired,” she said before adding, “But it’s going to be OK because I’m going to show up with this Nespresso for them.” However, things did not go as she expected them to, and bringing the Nespresso machine on board ended up being an embarrassing moment for the actress.

Anne Hathaway’s Biggest Diva Request on the Set of Serenity

During her conversation with Seth Meyers, Anne Hathaway further shared that although she took the Nespresso machine to the film set to get fresh and great coffee for the crew, she did not know that the boat had no outlets to plug in the coffee machine.

“I’m like, ‘Hey guys! where can I plug my Nespresso machine.’ They’re like, ‘This is a movie boat, you can’t plug it in anywhere. This isn’t real.'”

After which a “massive generator” was brought on the boat to operate the coffee machine. The actress shared that the crew would go, “Hang on! Hathaway wants coffee,” as they start the generator. Hathaway claimed that while she wanted to do something nice for the crew, it turned out to be an embarrassing moment and “the biggest diva request of all time” for her.

Serenity is available on Prime Video.
