In the past, Transformers have made a name for themselves through their numerous films, toys and TV shows, but there were also Transformer games back in the Xbox 360 era, which were quite popular. Now that Activision has been bought by Microsoft, Hasbro has been hoping that a potential revival of these games through Game Pass is possible. Still, unfortunately, due to the multiple mergers, Activision has lost the Hard drives that contain those games, so hopefully, they will be found one day soon.

What Transformers games were available during the Xbox 360 era?
Throughout the Xbox 360 era, we received four different Transformer games that were fun to play and had a lot of unique and fun gameplay aspects. These games were; Transformers: Devastation, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, and Transformers: War for Cybertron. Unfortunately, as time has progressed, these games are no longer purchasable on the Xbox store due to licensing issues, but if players were to buy a disc version, they would still be playable due to backward compatibility.
Even though these games were fun to play, they weren’t highly successful in sales and didn’t get enough attention causing no further games to be created for a long time; even though the films kept the franchise alive, there was still no opportunity for a revival of Transformer games which is a real shame as there is a lot of potential to be head in the Transformer series with a lot of pre-made lore, developed characters and numerous plot lines to adapt into a game.

Will there be a possibility for new Transformers games to be developed?
As of 2022, game developers Splash Damage, who are a London Based Studio who are behind Gears Tactic, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and Dirty Bomb, have been working on a new Transformers game called Transformers: Reactivate, with the only information we have at the moment being that it will be a 1-4 player Action Game that will allow a seamless transition between Vehicle and Bot action, but for now, there is no announced release date.
Currently, there is a plan for a Closed Beta sometime in 2023, but that information hasn’t been released, and no gameplay videos have been released; all we have been shown is a cinematic trailer revealing that this will be a brand-new story in the Transformers universe with a brand new cast of side characters, but the usual cast of Autobots as they take on a brand new enemy called The Legion, which will be their biggest enemy yet.
What do you think about this information? Will you be hoping for the Transformers games of the old to come to newer generation consoles? Or will you wait patiently for Transformers: Reactivate? Let us know in the comments!
