So the character roster for Mortal Kombat 1 is apparently getting even bigger. And according to the latest leaks, we could see the likes of Harley Quinn and the Doom Slayer joining the franchise to tussle with Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the rest of the MK cast. These characters being rumoured to form part of a ‘Pack 2’.
The previous leaked rumours about characters being available from DLC have been pretty much spot on. Even before Mortal Kombat 1 had been officially announced, there was rumours of Omni-Man being part of the game. And this has been confirmed recently by developer NetherRealm who state that he will feature as part of ‘Kombat Pack 1’.
The latest on the Mortal Kombat 1 additional characters
Industry insider IdleSloth recently took to Twitter to post up a list of characters who are rumoured to feature as part of MK1’s Kombat Pack 2. This consisted of 6 new fighters and 5 Kameo fighters with the insider stating the details came from a leaker who ‘hit the vast majority of Mortal Kombat reboot leaks.’ So still take with a pinch of salt.
And whilst the list has some familiar names such as Kano, Sareena and Noob Saibot, it was the inclusion of Doom Slayer, Harley Quinn and DeathStroke which perhaps raised a few eyebrows. But then we’ve already seen Homelander being announced so it’s maybe not so much of a surprise that other DC characters have been announced.
And if the rumours are indeed correct, we would see the Kameo fighters of Bo’ Rai Cho, Drahmin, Hsu Hao, Moloch and Rain. The latter being the only who hasn’t featured in the 3D era of Mortal Kombat.
However some fans on Twitter commented on IdleSloth’s post making their feelings clear;
“Harley Quinn is played out….. It’s not a reboot if you’re gonna add non-MK fighters to the cast…Even Doom Slayer…… MS should of waited to put him in a Killer Instinct….. Hurry up and just buy WB”.
“Ngl this is kinda wack… maybe if it was Shredder instead of Deathstroke… or something else other than Harley, kinda don’t want to see another Jokerish character. That’s just me personally but I already know what some people are gonna say…”.
As we stated earlier, these rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt as we can’t confirm the reliability of the leaker but given that his previous leaks have pretty much hit the mark. It could be that we see these characters announced in the not too distant future.
