Zach Galifianakis’ Funny or Die chat show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis has been one of the most enjoyable shows. The first episode of the show was aired on January 4, 2008, and it gained popularity ever since.
The show primarily invites celebrities whom the Hangover star would roast and ask awkward questions leaving little room for them to answer. But the show was fun as it featured a wide range of prominent celebrities including Brad Pitt. The show ran for 8 seasons with 21 episodes and one special.
Brad Pitt on Zach Galifianakis’ Between Two Ferns
Brad Pitt was showered with a series of awkward questions by Zach Galifianakis on Between Two Ferns. Of course, it was the nature of the show but the questions are very very awkward, even for Pitt.
Right in the beginning, the host called the actor by his original name Bradley Pitts while describing his latest war movie Fury as “Furry.” He also asked the star questions about naked pictures in Playgirl magazine and his showering issue and why did he play the Nazi hater when he looked like “Hitler’s dream.”
Galifianakis later joked about Pitt and Angelina. Jolie as recently Jolie has been named an honorary dame by Queen Elizabeth II and directed the World War II drama Unbroken. “Is it hard for you to maintain a suntan?” Galifianakis asked Pitt, jumping directly to adding “Because you live in your wife’s shadow.”
But that was not all, the comedian did not shy away from bringing up Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
“Tell me what it was like the first time that you laid eyes on Angelina. Was it like one of those classical love stories like when Ross first saw Rachel. You know, that show ‘Friends,’ have you seen that?” he asked.
Further, Galifianakis played the Friends theme song attempting to make the actor uncomfortable but Pitt said that he love that song.
Brad Pitt’s War Drama Fury Came That Year
Perhaps Pitt appeared on Galifianakis’ show only to promote his 2014 film, Fury directed by David Ayer. The movie also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, and Scott Eastwood.
The $211.8 million movie led by Pitt revolved around a Sherman M4A2E8 tank. Pitt took the role on his shoulders and performed excellently. Taking to Oregonlive, the director said that Pitt was “after immersion and truth.”
“I think Brad was attracted to the leadership role, playing this wise, grizzled guy, this survivor. And he’s not just a survivor — he’s got to keep these other people alive, yet ask them to do things that risk their lives. I think he was attracted to the paradox of that,” Ayer said.
Adding further, the director said that Pitt was the boss, “the big brother” and “you have these younger, crazier brothers”
“And then Logan Lerman’s character, who’s having like the worst first day at school ever, going into this salty crew of veterans who don’t really understand how far gone they are until this kid shows up, this kind, decent guy,” he added.
Fury can be regarded as one of the most remarkable war movies in history. The movie immersed the emotion of the characters and the setting of the theme well. The movie went on to become a critical and commercial success.
Fury can be streamed on Amazon Prime Videos.
