GTA6 Rumoured to Release Next Year on PS5 Pro with 8K Supported!

GTA6 is easily one of the most anticipated video games of all time. Fans have been clamouring for an official word from Rockstar even before the huge leak in 2022. But after some digging, it seems that GTA6 might finally release, and it doesn’t even seem all that far away.

Rockstar Games has done a pretty solid job of keeping its cards close to its chest. But it seems like Rockstar will be making a huge renaissance in the coming year, with the release of both GTA6 and the very likely Red Dead Redemption Remaster or Remake.

GTA6 is rumoured to release in 2024. Finally, after years of data mining and leaking, it seems like the goal is in sight. Excitement levels are rising among the GTA fandom, and for good reason. Now the question arises: how will it perform?

Well according to Twitter User GTAVInewz, GTA6 will release next year and coincide with the PS5 Pro launch. From previous reports, we know that the PS5 Pro, which is currently codenamed “Project Trinity”, will also release next year. The User states that not only will GTA6 release on this newer platform, it will also provide multiple stability modes, including a 4K/60fps option along with possible 8K support.

Many fans were quick to dismiss this notion, as it truly does seem too good to be true. But Rockstar Games has consistently outdone itself in the past, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see it knock it out of the pack once again. After all, GTA6 will probably be their leading title for years to come, similar to GTA 5.

What Are the Chances of GTA6 Releasing Next Year?

As previously mentioned, very little is officially known about GTA6. However, there is enough evidence to suggest that the title may be released in 2024. There’s very little chance that it releases this year, primarily because of low marketing, and of course, the rumoured Red Dead Redemption Remaster or Remake. Rockstar probably wants to focus more of its resources on that for more immediate profits.

But there has been news to suggest that GTA6 may even get a teaser in November of this year. The fact that the PS5 Pro is also set to release next year also suggests that Rockstar and Sony may have a newfound partnership. The game may actually support insane resolution settings, as the GTA 5 Expanded Edition on PS5 boasts an impressive upscale 4K resolution with 60 frames per second.

Many games releasing on next-gen consoles offer multiple performance modes, so there is a very high chance that GTA6 offers something similar. Many developers are already pushing the PS5 to its limits, so the prospect of seeing Rockstar’s take on it is very exciting. If there is an 8K setting, then the frame rate will be considerably lower, probably 30fps. I for one, am very excited to see how well the PS5 Pro specs will be utilised.
