Gina Carano’s Fans Were Disappointed With Her Latest Film

After her shocking and controversial departure from Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian, Gina Carano has tried to pick up the pieces and move forward to newer projects. Unfortunately, the star’s choice of films has come under scrutiny. The actor led the Ben Shapiro-produced western Terror On The Prairie, which was released in 2022 as part of Daily Wire’s strategy to create films that focused neither on provocative messaging nor extremely understated tones. But it was apparent that Gina Carano’s fans did not get the memo. Many viewers took to social media to rip the film apart for its woke Hollywood values.

Carano too was caught in the crossfire with netizens branding her as “Johnna Wick”, while others called her appearance and feminist portrayal to be “strong like Arnold Schwarzenegger”. One netizen spoke of how the film got the powerful independent woman concept completely wrong and said,

“Every DailyWire movie is about strong women and with this one, it is no different from a Disney movie that has an unlikeable female protagonist who we are supposed to like but they make her unlikeable and crazy”.

As a result of the backlash, Gina Carano and her film failed to make an impression at the box office and bombed during its one-day theatrical run.
