A lot of stars have hated playing their roles in the movies and series towards the end of their projects but John Stamos is probably one of the few A-listers who first hated working on his project and then went on to love it as he kept filming it. Stamos who played the iconic role of Jessie Katsopolis in one of the most popular sitcoms of the 80s and 90s Full House, recently appeared in an episode of Hot Ones and revealed how he almost quit the show as he felt insecure by Jodie Sweetin.

John Stamos did not even know that there were going to be kids in Full House

John Stamos recently appeared for an interview on First We Feast’s Hot Ones series and talked about how his outlook on the show changed from the beginning to the end of the series. Stamos allegedly did not even know that the kids in the show will also be playing the central characters of the series and therefore it came as a surprise to him. Talking about Full House in an interview recently, Stamos said,

“I hated that show[laughs], I obviously ended up loving it. It was sort of pitched to me Bosom Buddies with a couple of kids in the background and as we’re casting it, [I was like] ‘they’re spending a lot of time on casting these kids who are going to be in the background’.

The General Hospital actor felt insecure by Jodie Sweetin

As John Stamos thought that kids were just going to be the side characters on Full House, the actor was really surprised when he saw the reactions of people to Jodie Sweetin’s dialogues at the first table read of the show. He said,

“We sit down and we start reading Jodie Sweetin who plays Stephanie[Tammer] reads her lines, and people are dying laughing, I mean screaming. I was like, ‘What’s happening here?’…You couldn’t even hear my lines, they were laughing so hard at her…I never forget this, I run out to the lobby where the Century Plaza Hotel and I am digging in my pocket for quarters like jam crying ‘Get me the fu*k off this show’ to my agent.”

John Stamos further added that he eventually did come to his senses and realized that the Full House is indeed a ‘beautiful show‘. The actor added that there was not any one central character in the show because the only central show character of the show was ‘love.’

Full House is currently streaming on HBO Max.
