If you’ve been waiting for a new first-person narrative adventure, then Luna Abyss may be the very game that you’ve been looking for. The new Bullet Hell action-adventure game by remote development studio Bonsai Collective has just released its new trailer at Gamescom 2023, one of the biggest game showcase events of the year.
This marks the first time that the game will be heading to Germany for the debut of a trailer. Luna Abyss is a narrative-driven game, so the characters and world are just as important as the gameplay. As such, the game looks like it will have well-crafted lore as well as fun, High-Octane Combat. The new trailer focuses on the new characters ‘Aylin’ and ‘Fawkes’.

Who are Aylin and Fawkes in the new Luna Abyss trailer?
The new trailer sheds more light on the game’s cast of characters, particularly Aylin and Fawkes. Players will be tasked with uncovering the mysteries of the Mimic Moon in Luna Abyss. And to aid you on your journey, Aylin will be your guide as you traverse the dense and diverse environments of the game. On the other hand, Fawkes will serve as the game’s lead character.
As you step outside your cell, Aylin, the governor of the Blood Moon Penal Colony, will guide you through the foreboding world of Luna Abyss. Her goal is to help and support the Scouts under her care by taking instructions from the mysterious All-Father. But due to her lack of understanding of the human mind, she sometimes makes questionable decisions. It sounds like their may be more than meets the eye with Aylin, but we’ll have to wait and see what her real intentions may be.
Fawkes is the game’s lead character, who just wants to complete their sentence as they’ve been held prisoner on the Blood Moon due to their embodiment of the characteristic red eyes of the Marked Ones. But they are caught between a cryptic prophecy and their sentence at large.
Previous trailers focused more on the exhilarating combat of the game, whereas this one gives us a better look at the game’s story and overall narrative. Creative Director at Bonsai Collective, Benni Hill says:
“The story is an important part of the Luna Abyss experience that Bonsai Collective have been crafting, so it’s really great to finally be able to put it front and centre in this brand new trailer.
We can’t wait to show the game to more of our peers at Gamescom.”
