In this Gamescom 2023 trailer, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is taking on the capital of Iraq in the 9th Century to tell its latest story. Described as a coming-of-age story, the player will follow Basim Ibn Ishaq, a street thief who learns the ways in becoming an assassin. He was introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but now, Ishaq is the main character. The trailer is fully spoken in Arabic, so be sure to have subtitles on for your preferred language if you don’t understand Arabic.

What did the Gamescom 2023 Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer show?

This Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer shown at Gamescom 2023 is narrated by Ishaq as he explains his history with Baghdad. How his childhood was like here and why he’s returned to Baghdad after years away. While we don’t know why Ishaq left, I’m sure the full game will explain that in its story. Ishaq knows of the evils lurking in the shadows and plans to take these people down. Players will be exploring the open-world of Baghdad as they bring justice to the city Ishaq once called home.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is now the 13th main installment for the Assassin’s Creed series. The popular franchise took a small break from yearly releases in 2015 and came back strong in 2017 with an 81 Metascore for Assassin’s Creed Origins. Most recently, fans were overall happy with 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with an 82 Metascore.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is scheduled to release on October 5 later this year. It was originally planned for October 12 but it was pushed up to likely avoid big hitters like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Let’s hope it wasn’t rushed out the door to meet this new date. It will be available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
