Game Pass has recently proven to be a very important addition for Xbox users, helping to grow the success of Microsoft’s platform. There are currently three tiers of service for consoles and Game Pass Ultimate is the most popular, so much so that 70-80% of gamers using the service have subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate; the highest tier.

A new survey for gamers shows that most guaranteed the maximum accessible benefits via Game Pass Ultimate.

Game Pass Ultimate is even more popular than most people think.

This new information is valid for new games yet to be released, and may even make Activision’s catalog of releases less accessible for players at other levels, given the purchase of Activision Blizzard made by Microsoft, which may transform the upcoming games of the studio in Game Pass Ultimate exclusives, as a report from The European Commission says.

In the past, Microsoft has released all titles at the Standard Game Pass subscription tier, now that tier is $10.99, making it just $6 cheaper than the highest tier. This might convince fans that the Ultimate level is “more worth it,” but by limiting Activision Blizzard’s highly anticipated games, the company might be rushing ahead and falling prey to the sharp criticism our fandom has.

The report also makes us wonder about Game Pass on PC as Microsoft only offered a single subscription tier for the platform which is cheaper than Ultimate, so players of keyboard and mouse would get the discount on Activision titles that soon will arrive?

The gaming deal of the century.
The gaming deal of the century.

After the massive merger of Activision and Blizzard that shook the world of games, Microsoft secured the Call of Duty franchise and so is expected from all other series of games, which reach the subscription service soon and, consequently, in the hands of players, but unfortunately, that’s not what this latest report indicates.

The releases probably not being part of the cheapest subscription levels revives a one-sided debate about the increasingly expensive prices of products related to the gamer world, moving further and further away from how it was in the most affordable past, especially in places around the world with poor economies.

Although understandable worldwide, The increase in prices is exaggerated and only favors big corporations and some people who defend them, probably because they still manage to buy some over-prized products without too many issues.

What do you think? Are yous surprised that such a large portion of subscribers have access to Game Pass Ultimate? How Microsoft should act in your opinion? Let us know in the comments!
