However, in the season five finale of the fantasy drama television series, his character was shot dead, leaving fans to believe he won’t return in the follow-up seasons. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Harington revealed that it was hard to lie to his co-stars about this big plot cliffhanger and the resurrection of Jon Snow in season six. The Eternals star shared,

“That got tricky as well because Jon Snow is a character around which a lot of other characters’ storylines pivot around, so essentially when going and telling all my cast mates that I’m not back next season, I’m also going, ‘Oh yeah, and you’re fired too. I’m dead, so we’re all kind of not here.’”

According to reports, the makers informed Kit Harington that he had to keep this plot from his co-stars and crew members and that Jon Snow would return in season six.

In an interview, Kit Harington opened up about his experience filming the thrilling and suspense-filled final episode of Game of Thones’ season 5. The actor claimed that he became a bit anxious when the show was revolving so much around his character, saying,

“My darkest period was when the show seemed to become so much about Jon when he died and came back. I really didn’t like the focus of the whole show coming onto Jon — even though it was invalidating my problem about being the weak link because things were about Jon.”
