Gaining stardom with her breakthrough role as Wonder Woman in DCEU’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back in 2016, Gal Gadot has worked hard to defy all odds against her. The Miss Israel winner of 2004 has worked in several superhit movies and has strived tirelessly to portray her given characters in the best possible way.
But despite her utmost efforts, it seems that Gadot’s new movie, Heart of Stone, has been facing much criticism as it gets insultingly bad reviews from critics. However, despite the terrible reviews, the Netflix action outing managed to shatter the streaming giant’s records along with dethroning Steve Carell’s $970 million film, Despicable Me 2.
Gal Gadot’s Heart of Stone Claims The #1 Spot On Netflix Despite Terrible Ratings
Gal Gadot has won numerous hearts with her outstanding acting and wide genre range as an actress. But it seems that criticism has still found its way to her, as her most recent Netflix movie, Heart of Stone receives terrible reviews from critics worldwide, with a mere 30% approval ratings from Rotten Tomatoes.
However, despite the insultingly bad reviews, the Wonder Woman starrer has somehow managed to make its way to Netflix’s Top 10 movies, breaking the streaming giant’s records and leaving several other top-rated movies behind.
Furthermore, besides the criticism, several important sources too have cited the movie as worth watching. This includes Empire Magazine’s Laura Venning, who reviewed the film as,
“Heart Of Stone is a perfectly watchable and often daft bit of fun, but its mission to supersede Ethan Hunt might prove to be impossible.”
This proves that while Gal Gadot’s Heart of Stone was pulled down for its thinly written characters and generic plot, it has still managed to become a good enough movie to be watched, judging how films like Untold: Johnny Football and River Wild are the movies following it in the list.
Gal Gadot’s Heart of Stone Breaks Steven Carell’s $970M Movie’s Record
Besides other movies including the top-rated Safe, Heart of Stones has managed to dethrone Steve Carell‘s $970 million worldwide grossing movie Despicable Me 2 to take its spot as the #1 movie on the streaming giant, Netflix.
The movie, which was directed by Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’s executive producers, stars Gal Gadot in the role of the lead character, Rachel Stone. With the Wonder Woman star showing strong action with some major Ethan Hunt Vibes, the overall theme of the movie coincides with that of the Mission: Impossible franchise as well.
Not just this, Gadot also hopes for her movie to become famous enough to spawn several other sequels, with her at the center. And with its current performance on the streaming giant, it seems her wish just might come true.
Nonetheless, if the movie has broken the record of big and superhit movies like that, it certainly must be worth watching. That being said, you can stream Heart of Stone on Netflix.
