Henry Cavill has been the apple of fans’ eyes due to his charismatic presence on-screen. Being an influential celebrity with an extreme fan following, it was quite an uproar when it was announced that the actor is leaving The Witcher series. Though the decision remains unchanged, he is back in the series for the last time as the teaser for Season 3 of the hit Netflix series has now been dropped.
While the new trailer is giving another glimpse of the actor portraying the lead role of Geralt Of Rivia in the series, fans are not so happy about it.
The Witcher Season 3 Will See Henry Cavill for The Last Time!
The 39-year-old actor, Henry Cavill is back for the last time to portray the role of Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix hit series, The Witcher. Netflix has officially released the teaser of the upcoming season 3 which is captioned, “This summer, everything changes.”
Season 3 is divided into two volumes, the first one will feature five episodes which will drop this June meanwhile the season’s last three episodes will be dropping in July this year.
Though the actor has previously announced his departure from the series to reprise his role of Superman in the upcoming DC film, it remained unchanged even when DC Studios and WB-Discovery announced that the actor will no longer be continuing the role.
While the trailer has excited many fans, the other fraction is still disappointed at the Man of Steel’s exit from the show.
Fans’ Reaction to The Witcher Season 3
As soon as the teaser hit the internet, netizens started sharing their opinions on the upcoming season and shared their disappointment as they would be watching Cavill for the last time in the series. It is not a secret that he is one of the major highlights of the hit series which is one reason why fans are not ready to let him go.
The situation has gone quite serious as fans are even ready to boycott the show if it won’t be featuring the Enola Holmes star.
One fan commented on Youtube,
“For us Season 3 is last. We can’t accept geralt without Henry Cavill.”
Another wrote,
“ahhh the final season..i m going to cherish it”
A third wrote,
“No one can replace the charisma and acting of Henry Cavill.”
Meanwhile, a fourth chimed in and directly clarified,
“We are here but we are ONLY here for Henry! When he walks, we walk!”
From the response the teaser is getting, it seems that the next season which will feature Liam Hemsworth in the leading role would see viewers’ trajectory falling downwards.
The Witcher Season 3 will begin on June 29th, 2023.
