Despite being one of the most popular video game releases of the year, Starfield is already getting a lot of backlash in the four days since it has been out. The highly anticipated space RPG from Bethesda was finally launched into orbit on September 6, and naturally, the title has taken over the entire gaming galaxy, for better or worse. Leading up to its awaited release, the developer claimed that its latest title will be a “modder’s paradise.”
Of course, like everything that gets a little too popular, Starfield has received both acclaim and hate, with gamers being extremely vocal with their opinions on the Internet.

Starfield Players Criticize the Game’s Reliance on Modding
Although Starfield has received “generally favorable” reviews, there seems to be a considerable number of players who are not exactly too fond of the game. Many of them decided to share the aspects of the space RPG that have annoyed them the most so far.
According to them, Bethesda’s latest title is far from perfection, and so people are listing down its biggest flaws and elements they wish to be different.
Even while being a commercial and critical success, as well as having a player base of millions looking for adventure in the Settled Systems, Starfield seems to have plenty of issues that are irritating its community. A negative review that is prominently standing out and getting a lot of online support is Epic Mike’s, who claims to be a “full time gamer.”
In a complaining post on Twitter/X, Mike explains why he thinks the RPG is “mid AF” and how the developers seem to have “completely lost touch with their audience.”
In fact, the biggest gripe Epic Mike seems to have with Starfield is that it relies too heavily on its modding options to be “playable, fun or interesting.” The post has been liked and reposted many times, which shows that Mike is not the only one who thinks Bethesda’s latest game did not live up to all the pre-launch hype that surrounded it. The Biggest Criticisms Players Have About Starfield So Far
Reddit user, Nervous-Mind-5113, posted a question on the Starfield subreddit, asking the community about the biggest gripes they have with the game since its launch. The post got over 6,000 responses revolving around players facing issues with Bethesda’s latest title. Most of these issues are about the game’s inventory or its ship-building feature.
Another user on the platform, CheesecakeCareless44, answered the question by saying how irritating it is to have Digipicks in the inventory’s Misc category, especially because that category is specified for random items you collect on your space adventure.
As it turns out, there were plenty of other people who were equally annoyed with having to go through so many items just to see their remaining Digipicks. This was just one of the many minor issues players seem to have with Starfield. You can check out the post and the numerous responses here.
