Marvel Entertainment celebrates Stan Lee’s centennial birthday with a confirmation of a Disney+ documentary about the legend’s life and works. Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95, a massive loss to the comics community.
Lee is the co-creator of the Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Hulk. He is famous for his cameos in Marvel movies, a scene most avid fans always look forward to in theaters.
Marvel Celebrates Stan Lee’s 100th Birthday With A Disney+ Documentary
In Marvel’s latest tweet, the documentary teaser features glimpses of Lee’s appearances and roles. The montage completes an illustration of the comics creator, a testament to decades worth of contribution to the field of comics and movies.
Stan Lee worked as a writer and editor for Marvel Comics, and undoubtedly became the most popular figure known to fans for his long history of work in the comics community. His career started in 1941 when he published his first oeuvre, a story from the fifth issue of Captain America comics. He began receiving recognition in the pop culture industry in the 1960s.
Aside from working with fellow artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Lee became involved in the company as an executive producer on several Marvel movie productions.

“100 years ago, Stan was born in NYC. Over the last century, his work changed the pop culture landscape & influenced millions. At LA Comic Con, fans left messages for Stan’s centennial. Inspiration. Legend. Hero. These are some of the words that came up again & again. #StanLee100”

Stan Lee Changed The Art Of Comics Forever
Lee became the face of Marvel and an inspiration to many aspiring comic artists and lovers around the world. His passing was greatly mourned, but his life is celebrated in many ways. Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement after Lee’s death in 2018 via The Hollywood Reporter:
“Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A superhero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain and to connect. The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart.”
