Often co-stars get enmeshed in petty feuds or bitter rivalries on set. It’s either that or they end up becoming the best of pals, there’s no in-between. And for Sandra Bullock, with the bubble of charisma that she is, it’s mostly been the latter.
From her iconic friendship with Keanu Reeves that blossomed after their time on Speed, to her long-time buddy George Clooney who she worked with in 2013’s Gravity, Bullock has never found it difficult to connect with her colleagues. But does that stand true for Angelina Jolie’s former beau, who collaborated with the Ocean’s 8 star during a 2015 film?
Sandra Bullock’s Experience Working With Angelina Jolie’s Ex-Husbands
Billy Bob Thornton, who was married to Angelina Jolie for a couple of years prior to her relationship with Brad Pitt, has a perpetual bad-boy reputation. Not to mention, his tattoos and the ‘look at me wrong and you’re dead’ vibe only added more to his seemingly intimidating demeanor. You know, the type of guy who gives off a menacing aura while he’s nursing a glass of whiskey in the corner of a dingy bar?
Even Sandra Bullock, who plays Thornton’s rival in Our Band Is Crisis, believed that there was indeed a threatening air about the actor. She said as much during the premiere of their David Gordon Green-helmed comedy/drama
“The funny thing about Billy Bob, everyone thinks he wants to kill you. Like, he looks at you as if he wants to take a, what is it, a shank? What is that knife they make in prison?”
As it turns out, however, the Goliath star is anything but that. If anything, he’s the type of man who’d fit the stereotype of ‘looks like he could kill you, but is a cinnamon roll.’ And that’s something that Bullock herself has vouched for.
Sandra Bullock & Billy Bob Thornton’s Iconic Friendship
The Oscar-winning actress and Thornton’s friendship goes way back in time, and when they joined forces for Our Band Is Crisis, Bullock remarked that the latter had been as lovely as she’d last seen him. Not only did she gush about just how kind and loving the Fargo star is, but she also crowned Thornton as “the nicest human being ever.” And that’s coming from the Miss Congeniality star herself. Pun intended.
“He’s the nicest human being, the nicest human being ever. So kind. It surprises me every time, I don’t know why. He’s got the tattoos and the little shirt and the boots. You’re assuming a knife somewhere in the back pocket. But there’s no knife, just love. Just love.”
“She’s hilarious. I love being around her. She’s so fun to joke around with. She’s such a regular gal. She doesn’t have the ego that a big star like her you think would have. Really down to Earth girl.”
Our Band Is Crisis can be rented/purchased on Apple Tv or Amazon Video.
