And the Kingpin actor has given more air to it with his latest statement. D’Onofrio joined Raleigh’s GalaxyCon this weekend and talked about having any future encounters with the web-slinger. And he seemed quite excited to meet Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as he said, “Eventually, I will beat Spider-Man’s as*.”

Though he did not specify a film or series for such a thing to happen, he definitely left fans guessing when it would actually happen. Whatever the case may be, his statement seems to hint that fans would “eventually” get to see a battle between the crime lord and the Marvel superhero. It could either take place in Daredevil: Born Again or in Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film.

The film is expected to release soon after Born Again, and the 63-year-old actor has also shared that he would love to share the screen with the Marvel superhero in live-action. Earlier in an interview, he said, “I want it as much as everybody does, so we’ll see.”

He shared that his character has close ties with “Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man” in comics. He already faced the two of them in Netflix’s Marvel shows, and it leaves him only with Spider-Man. Although he did not go into details about when it would happen, he did say that it would be really fun to finally share the screen with the web-slinger.

Echo is expected to release in late 2023.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to release in the spring of 2024.
