Elden Ring, the FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment title that is considered an incredibly challenging and massive game, is getting even more mod content before the official DLC release. An expansion to the game, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was teased in February, however there has been very little news about it since the announcement.

Despite the fact fans do not know when the first expansion is set to arrive, there is good news for gamers who want more of the title. Those who enjoy mod expansions can now expect a new free update for the mod Elden Ring: The Convergence. The update is coming from the same developers who designed the original mod and there will be a lot more to do. This is a great way fans of Elden Ring have expressed their enjoyment of the game and kept it alive.

The 1.3 update to Elden Ring: The Convergence adds new magic, new areas, better graphics, added weapons, new enemies and bosses, and more. Those who live for mod expansions claim this is one of the largest they have ever seen and it even repairs over 100 bug from the previous version.

A trailer was released for the new patch, and shows off a new boss called the Godskin Matriarch. The detail of the mod expansion for Elden Ring is an incredible feat and is being praised by the fanbase. Although there is no exact date for when the Elden Ring expansion will hit PC and console gaming, it is expected to arrive before the end of 2024. Given the fact that Elden Ring was a huge game, covering 30.5 square miles, toppling open-world titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, gamers expect big content in the future. Since players are expecting Shadow of the Erdtree to feel familiar in the Elden Ring universe, it is likely taking the developers time to build on such a large scale. The main story itself took an average of 57 1/2 hours for users to complete with a completionist average of 133 hours.

Supposedly, Shadow of the Erdtree was multiple DLC projects at one point, before the developers decided to put everything together. Nevertheless, players are going to have to wait just a little bit longer to explore new areas of the world. Until then, they might consider Elden Ring: The Convergence mod as an alternative, while waiting for new content. It is an exciting way for players to continue exploring the world, if they do not want to play anything else in the meantime.
